Hotel??

HI, We are going to Boston Dec 26 for a week, and although we already have reservations at the Hilton in Back Bay, I just realized that our flight is leaving Boston at 9:40am, and am now wondering if I should get the Embassy Suites at the Airport. The cost is the same but we would be closer to the airport. Which hotel is better? And is there a T near Embassy Suites?

Thanks!
Cheryl

Normally I wouldn't change hotels to get just a few miles closer, but that Sat & Sun will be crazy busy at Logan.

Still, with a 9:40am flight and leaving Back bay at 7:00am, I think you should be okay since it's a weekend. There will b airport traffic but not regular city traffic. Leaving a little early, in my opinion, will be less hassle than changing hotels, and that Embassy is a noisy place due to the aircraft.

It's not worth the time or energy to switch hotels. Set your alarm a half hour earlier for insurance, but the streets of Boston should be clear. Like clark said, the airport could be quite busy so even if you stayed at the airport you would want to get a headstart to get thru TSA - so no real time saved or convenience.

Unless you're thinking about staying the whole week at the airport, which is just crazy talk.

ok, Thanks! I don't know how long it will take to get from the Hilton back bay to the airport?

I'd say 15-20 minutes on Sat after New Years. Add some buffer time.

Either take the Back Bay/ Logan Shuttle or cab or uber it.

oh, thats not bad at all, i guess i thought it would take a lot longer. It takes me a minimum of 45 min to go to either New Orleans airport or to the Baton Rouge one with no traffic.
thanks!!

Logan Airport is just outside of main part of Boston; it is in East Boston which is just on the other side of Boston Harbor on a little spit of land. You can get some nice views of the Harbor and City on takeoff and landing, depending on flight path. I'd allow 30 minutes travel time plus whatever time you are comfortable with at the airport prior to flight. There will be no traffic that day.

Stay at your main hotel; don't switch.

The Back Bay Shuttle Bus leaves only a couple of blocks from your hotel.

The front desk will tell you how to find it.

I would want to be at Logan at 7:30 depending on which airline you will be flying. Security has been extremely tedious recently.
