hot springs area

Any travels to hot springs?
I am going for a family reunion in July and was wondering what the area was like, things to do, bath houses, etc.

If you mean Hot Springs, Arkansas, there are two operating bathhouses on Bathhouse Row. Buckstaff is for men, and Ozark is for ladies. Definitely treat yourself to the full bath and massage! There is also nice shopping in downtown, and beautiful scenery!

If indeed you mean Hot Springs Arkansas, there are also some beautiful lakes nearby - Lake Hamilton and Lake Ouichita have vacation and boat rentals as does the smaller Lake Catherine. Lake Catherine and Lake Ouichita both have state park facilites that are very nice.

The national park, downtown above Bathhouse Row has lots of trails for hiking (as does the entire surrounding area)

I'm not sure if it is still racing season, but there is also a horse track, Oaklawn.

There also used to be quite a few art galleries in the area around the bath houses.

Be warned, July in Arkansas is hot and very humid.

Yes I do mean Hot Springs, AR
How far away is Lake Quichita? My husb and I are scuba divers and heard there is decent diving at this lake, has anyone out there tried it?

I can highly recommend the Buckstaff bathhouse which, by the way, serves both men and women.

Lake Ouachita is about 15 miles from Hot Springs and even though their website says scuba diving is available, I'm pretty skeptical how good it would be. I've never heard of anyone diving there; it seems more appropriate for fishing and boating. The lake is beautiful and the least congested lake in the area and the largest lake in Arkansas. If you like fishing or water sports, I think you'd really enjoy it.
