Hot days in New Orleans, help keep me cool!
I will be traveling to New Orleans with my husband for several business meetings. We will be on our own from Friday until Monday morning. I have made dinner reservations at GW Fins, August and Palace Cafe. Although we have been to NO several times we are usually there during cooler weather and we enjoy long walks thru neighborhoods. I am looking for some cooler (air conditioned) activities for this trip. We enjoy museums, anything food related, theater and music...please advise us.
Thank you |
How about the Aquarium - the Holocaust or WWII museum - a cooking class?

During my research for an upcoming and much cooler trip in February I came across this site. It has lots of things listed.
www.neworleansmuseums.com The museum of art looks particularly interesting as well as the D-day museum. |
The museum ideas sound great. I know my husband would really like to do that. Since we will be driving I was thinking of taking HWY 90 from Lafayette to NO instead of I10 thru Baton Rouge (we have done that drive before). Where exactly is the Tabasco factory tour?
|
The Tabasco plant is outside New Iberia south of Lafayette on Hwy 90.

The Tabasco plant tour as a place to keep cool! :)) I guess if you don't do any tastings.
We enjoyed the "New Orleans Cooking School" class. Got to learn about the history of cajun & creole cuisines, ate & drank. It was fun...and Air Conditioned. |
