I'm arriving in DC on Monday and am booked into a hostel near Dupont Circle. Any information would be great.

Ummm.... DC is a great place to visit and Dupont Circle is an excellent location, full of restaurants and other interesting places?

Any info on the hostel itself. It is the Washington International Student Center. How far from the Metro? Within walking distance? Safe after dark? Thanks

Try doing a Google search for the hostel. If that doesn't work, you might get better results asking on Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forum - www.lonelyplanet.com. Click on Branches, then USA.

I've not heard of it, but looked it up.
the location on 18th st. just south of Columbia Rd. is the heart of the ADAMS MORGAN neighborhood (though Dupont Circle is just a 10 minute walk away).

It's a fine area... but is party central in the evenings (especially weekends). There are about a hundred bars/clubs/restaurants on 18th St. within three blocks of the place.
