Horseback riding in/near Yellowstone?

Jump to last reply

We’ll be at Yellowstone in late July, and I’m looking at options for one- or two-hour rides. Does anyone have experiences with the rides Xanterra offers in the park? They have three locations – Mammoth, Canyon and Tower-Roosevelt. Any preferences, recommendations or insights on those rides or other nearby outfitters? We (me, my husband and our 11-year-old daughter) have ridden before, but we are by no means experienced riders. Looking for beautiful scenery, calm horses, knowledgeable guides and some fun!

At this point, am not considering any kind of meal or cookout with the ride, but if you've had a great experience, please let me know. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Thanks in advance for the help!
