Horrors!

Love the new colors, Fodors, but the latest in formatting has got to go! Rumor has it it was created by a French nun looking to off load her offspring ;-)

seetheworld Mar 5th, 2005 04:35 PM

You got that right!

I'm at home in bed with the flu and watching that thread bounce around is the most fun I've had all day. Aack!

LoveItaly Mar 5th, 2005 04:59 PM

iamq, I hope you feel better tomorrow!
But at least we are keeping you entertained. And the admission is free, LOL. Take good care of yourself, the flu is not fun.

seetheworld Mar 5th, 2005 05:00 PM

Feel better soon, iamq!

iamq Mar 5th, 2005 05:10 PM

Thanks you guys! I'll feel better tomorrow and that thread will be long gone!

SandyBrit Mar 5th, 2005 06:11 PM

Hope you do feel better tommorrow.

By the looks of it, I might be wrong about the thread!

What are you guys talking about??

CAPH52 Mar 5th, 2005 08:29 PM

The thread with the long title and no breaks that was goofing up the margin. Go to the next 50 messages and you'll see it.

machin Mar 5th, 2005 08:34 PM

The poster was a first timer and could not know she was the cause of all this complaining.

CAPH52 Mar 5th, 2005 09:07 PM

I think we all realize that she didn't know she'd goof up the margins. There's some doubt as to whether she's for real. But our real gripe is with those who kept topping the post. Especially those who weren't responding to the post itself.

cigalechanta Mar 6th, 2005 07:29 AM

CAPH, my first time here, I did the same thing as Sophie and did not realize it for a long time.

CAPH52 Mar 6th, 2005 08:03 AM

I can see how it would be very easy for a first time poster to do that. And to not realize it. But, unfortunately, once it happens, there doesn't seem to be any way to deal with it other than burying the post. And, at least in this case, it was possible to respond to the poster without responding to that particular post.

My complaint about the new bright banner is that my coworkers can spot me on Fodors from across the office! This never happened with the old style.

dcespedes Mar 6th, 2005 10:45 AM

Hi Suze--perhaps you can camouflage it by opening another window and reducing it to the size of the banner. Of course this will only work as long as your not active on the Fodors board but if you're reading only it should work?

rb_travelerxATyahoo Mar 6th, 2005 08:45 PM

If u are using Win-Doze with the Windows keyboard (the little "flying" window key between ctrl and alt) hold that key & press M, you minimize all open windows.

Press/hold Windows, shift, and M and you restore all to what it was before.

I often use a text only browser, "lynx" and it avoids all graphics ... looks like an old DOS screen, but if you're not used to "old-time" technology it would drive you crazy.
