Hoover Dam worth it?

Is the Hoover Dam worth the detour time for a family with young teens? Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks!

It's pretty impressive. I think the kids would enjoy hearing about how the dam was built. We always took our kids to historical sites and, even though they often pretended to be bored, they would talk about those places in later years.

It is a good break and an interesting site.

We took our daughter when she was 9 or 10 yrs old and she loved it, but she wanted to see it. Ask your kids if it interests them.

I had no desire to see it and was glad that I went. I found it intesting.

We went in April and definitely enjoyed it! The kids were 10 and 15. My husband is a civil engineer, and he really got into the whole thing, pointing things out to us, etc. The tour that they give is interesting and worthwhile. We thought we would be there two hours - we were there for a little more than four! It's the only place on an 11 day trip that my husband took pictures and videos, he was that impressed with it. Go and enjoy it - it's incredible what they built so long ago.
