Hoover Dam (on the quick)
 

I am staying solo at The Mirage in August. I wish to visit Hoover Dam and do the trip as quick/cheap as possible. I would like to do a non-stop trip, preferably departing vegas at around 10-11am, do the Discovery Tour and be back before 3.30pm.

Is that possible?

Is there any shuttle / public transport to the dam?

should be possible. They don't show you too much these days because of security. We were in and out in about an hour

I heard about short bus trips to the Dam taking about 2 hours. I remember seeing fliers at the hotel's concierge desk. You better check them out when you get there.

Make sure you take the Dam Tour and take lots of Dam pictures.

Be sure you go on your tour during the week....and NOT on holiday weekend. Went back through there leaving Vegas coming home July 4th weekend.....you wouldn't believe the miles and miles of traffic lined up going West....whew!
