Honolulu; Weather in January.

We are considering a trip to Honolulu in the first part of January. Is this typically the rainy season or is Honolulu the drier side of Oah'u? Thanks.

Go to www.wunderground.com

Use the "Travel & Activities" drop down menu and Select "Trip planner". Enter your destination and planned dates of travel. You'll be directed to all sorts of charts and historical weather data for that location during that period including a chart showing what actual weather conditions were for every day during that period for the last 10 years. Study the material and you'll know more about the weather than most locals.

Yes, it is the cooler and rainier season, but it's never consistently bad weather! We were there in January a couple of years ago and it was breezy, but we still had plenty of beach time and we were never confined to the indoors!

My last trip was the 3rd week in January a couple years ago. We had very nice weather. Beautiful, sunny, clear, warm. It did rain a couple times (downpour) but passed quickly.

RoamsAround: thanks for that great tip about WeatherUnderground Travel and Activities tab. It gives a wealth of useful info. I plan to use it a lot for future travels.
