Honolulu/Waikiki in May
We're going to Honolulu for 10 days in late may. I hope may is a good month to go. so far we plan on visiting
1.diamond head 2. the shrimp truck 3. pearl harbor 4. waikiki night life (what's good??) 5. snorkeling (where at?) 6. hiking/visiting waterfall (where at?) our schedule's pretty open, we're interested in hiking and going to waterfalls, any other suggestions will realy be appreciated! |
While I always recommend snorkeling at Hanauma Bay for the "aquarium experience", you can also get in some North Shore snorkeling in conjunction with your visit to one of the shrimp trucks.
My favorites are Three Tables, Firehouse and Shark's Cove. These three areas are all next to each other after you pass the entrance to Waimea Bay. Late May is generally a good time for snorkeling up there, though I would do this on a weekday and not a weekend (to avoid the worst of the crowds). |
If you have access to a car, I would not miss going to the North Shore.
This is the most beautiful part of Oahu. You can visit the Polynesian Cultural Center, The Dole Pineapple Plantation and the beautiful waterfall park and, of course, the wonderful beach. Just the drive and the scenery there is awesome. |

Lots of info for restaurants, pubs, clubs. http://www.budgettravelonline.com/bt...081901179.html You can download a free Honolulu Snapguide. Also click on: Pub/Clubs Also: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic...hu_Hawaii.html |
4. nightlife- besides the beach-front, there are two long major streets in central Waikiki... simple walk along these and you'll see the people and the various clubs and can figure out which ones suit your age and interests
