Honolulu Restaurant picks
Here are three to try:

Chef Mavro, 1969 S. King St. Tel: 808-944-4717 French with Asian touches

Padovani's Bistro 1956 Ala Moana Blvd. Tel: 946-3456 French, not really bistro fare, more refined, excellent cheese course as well

Cafe Miro 3446 Waialae Ave. Tel: 734-2737 Lovely spot, more locals than tourists, Asian/French food. The Chef and his lovely wife do it all. If you can speak some Japanese it helps! You will be invited to tour the kitchen after dinner, too.

Bon Appetit

I don't know if I am happy or dismayed at your revealing the excellent and reasonable Cafe Miro. What a great neighborhood spot...hope some posters will seek it out.

chef mavro is a wonderful restaurant. however, it is on the pricey side. great for a special occasion.

alan wong's, which is also on king street (i believe), is another great regional restaurant.
I forget about Alan Wong's. I really enjoyed my dinner there; wish they had outdoor seating though. I haven't tried the new one in the shopping mall (I think)...any word? Devon, thanks for the other suggestions. I hope to be in Honolulu this August and will try at least one of them.

Michele
