Honolulu airport transportation

Is it best to reserve ahead of time our roundtrip transfer to and from the airport -or should we just grab a shuttle (where?) at the airport? I don't mind setting it up ahead of time if that is better.

We always tell our travel agent to make the arrangements for us. With Apple Vacations- this is included. Im sure it is better if you are making your own arrangements it would be better to find out the prices ahead of time and not get ripped off. We loved Honolulu-- Im sure you will too. Have a great trip.

Where are you headed? If Waikiki, then there's no need to reserve ahead. A taxi runs approx. $28-30 one way. The Airport Waikiki Express bus/shuttle is $8 per person from the airport or $13 per person roundtrip. In case you don't buy a roundtrip shuttle ticket, there are plenty of shuttle companies that will take you from Waikiki back to the airport for $5 per person. Just look in the back of the tourist magazines.

I should mention that if you go the shuttle route, it can sometimes take a while to get to your hotel since they have to stop at several along the way.

We are staying at the Sheraton Waikiki (won a trip with Apple Vacations) and adding some nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village with Hilton points. Now that I think about it, I bet Apple Vacations will give us transfers - though our return will be from the second hotel.
