Honolulu Airport to Waikiki Transportation

Greetings,

We will be staying in Waikiki for two nights before taking an interisland flight to another island. As we will only be in Oahu for two nights, renting a car doesn't seem to make economic sense (over $100 + parking fees).
What is the best and most reliable way of getting from the airport to a hotel in Waikiki? What is the best and most reliable of getting from our hotel to the airport? I want to make sure we arrive w enough time for our interisland flight, but don't want to have to get on a shuttle 3 hours early while we wait for others to be picked up either.

Thank you

Just take a taxi. It's only 20-30 mins. from the airport into central Waikiki and cost around $32-35. At the airport they are waiting right outside baggage claim (no need to prearrange). From your hotel, the front desk can call one, if they are not waiting at the lobby (depends the size of the hotel if they'll have a taxi line or not).

Renting a car does make sense.

Considering airport transportation & likely more spent on commercial tours, it will probably be equal or less to rent a car.

Even in a couple of days you can see much of the island by car.

If you are staying on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, you can park at Aston Waikiki Banyan for $10/day.

You can likely win a bid of $15-$20/day for a car on priceline.

I also agree that a car's worth considering in this situation. By the time you pay taxi & tip from/back to the airport, you've already paid of a good chunk of that car rental. The $100 for two days that you quoted sounds too high. You should be able to find cheaper deals around.
