honolulu airport shuttles and flights..please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

We are travelling to oahu in december for our honeymoon and have some questions for you guys. First, what items are we not allowed to bring on the airplane with us..what is restricted? MY mom mentioned aeresol hairspray, but what else?

Second, we need transportation to the hotel and back since our hotel does not offer any. We prefer a shuttle but we arrive at almost 10 pm hawaiian time. Are there any still open at that time? Which do you suggest and should we reserve in advance or when we get there? Thanks so much for the help!!!

For God's sake, why would you ask a forum what you can or can't take on an airplane?? Any answers you get would not be reliable anyway. ASK YOUR AIRLINE !!!

Aerosol hairspray (a personal care item) IS ALLOWED, but only a small container of it. (Not the large, professional-size cans.) I've flown with it many, many times...

When you walk out of the center doors of baggage claim to the street cross to the medium and there will be someone there to put you on an Express Shuttle. The Shuttle goes to all the hotels and is only $13. round trip. No reservations are necessary.

As Troyman has mentioned, there are shuttles waiting to take passengers to their prospective hotels but you could consider a taxi.
We arrived after midnight and wanted to go straight to our hotel, the shuttle will get you there eventually but you have to wait your turn while other passengers are dropped off as well, could take a while depending on the location of your hotel.

It cost $25 for the taxi. We went to book a shuttle for the return journey but found the pick up time was way too early for our midnight flight.

We booked a $25 limo instead and left in style.

I also agree with the shuttles, they run frequently. Unfortunately when I arrived in the mid afternoon it was difficult to get a taxi because of the large numbers of people waiting, but you may have better luck in the evening. When you are departing your hotel for home, you can ask your hotel to book a shuttle for you. They run about every hour. Best to book a few days in advance. Hope this helps! Enjoy your honeymoon!

Everyone can ask or say whatever they like here, but Rusty gave great advice regarding the airplane question.

I especially liked the, "for God's sake" part. Captured my thoughts exactly. It's insane to ask that type of questions here.

To scubatv: Whats insane about it? What is she supposed to ask, questions about quantum physics? This is a travel forum. And how is her questions so different from yours about cheap car rentals in Alaska? Why did you not just go on line or get Alaskan travel brouchures or go buy a travel book? And what is so appropriate about Rustys reply? Why could you not get reliable info here? No one who reads this info knows anything? The point is a question was asked and the reply was a slap. PERIOD. Read some of Rusty's other replies to see how he loves to take slaps at people. You think that is OK? Sure, she could have called the airlines but she did not deserve the undignified reply.

I agree with you, but I did not interpret what Rusty wrote as a slap.

He echoed my thoughts exactly. My feeling is that airplane rules and staff are so up tight, you never know from one airline or airport to another what to expect, so my first thought was, "Why ask that here?". Rusty was just putting in his .02 cents.

We don't all agree, (that?s a good thing) but sometimes, we can still learn from people that disagree or have different opinions.

To scubatv; I think it is easier to see the point of another who disagrees when it is presented as information and is reasoned vs. a message that is heralded with a tone of indignation and comes across as an affront. You lose the message warding off the attack. I think Cali saw it that way too. And why not ask on a travel forum about plane proceedures. Its not so far fetched is it? Thanks jacketwatch..I too did not see the problem with asking on a travel forum , in which many people travel often what kinds of things might not be allowed on planes. Some people just dont know how to be civil...I appreciate your response.

Rusty: Abrupt amd polite in the same sentence? I disagree and see it quite differently and so did Cali. I think it was rude and uncalled for. You can deny that if you wish. Obviously you thought she was KRAZY! and it came out that way. And you got it back. You sure can dish it out but get pretty touchy when it comes your way, don't you.
