Honolulu

Hello all -

We are going to Honolulu for our honeymoon and staying a week. Besides the Arizona we want to know what the top 10 sights are that we should see?

Also, the top place to see a luau?

Thanks!!

Polynesian Cultural Center has the best Polynesian entertainment in Hawaii.

Lots of info:

I'm don't think these are the top 10 necessary, but interesting cultural things to see and do around Honolulu besides Pearl Harbor include: Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, Summer Place, ShangriLa estate, a tour of Chinatown. For the outdoors hiking DiamondHead and snorkeling at Hanuama Bay.

Rent a car for the day and drive to the north shore, driving past Hanauma Bay and Sea Life Park.

There is also Pali Lookout maybe for part of another day to rent a car and get out of Waikiki.

I have found a car is only necessary a day or maybe 2 while in Waikiki.

Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay.
Climbing Diamondhead.
Driving to the North Shore, stopping at Lanikai along the way.
Also, make sure you tour the Missouri when you go to Pearl Habor.

We loved our stop at Lanikai beach. It was so beautiful and very uncrowded.

We also enjoyed our visit to the Byodo-in temple. Very beautiful, very peaceful.

Congratulations! We too honeymooned on Oahu over 15 years ago.

I agree with the others on sights to see. Visiting the North Shore will show you much more of what the islands are like....it is beautiful!

The Polynesian Cultural Center has a luau but my favorite is Germaines Luau (http://www.best-luaus.com/Germaines%20Luau/)

You have to visit the following places:
1) North Shore - fun surfing
2) Hanauma Bay - Snorkeling
3) Kailua Beach - 2nd best beach
4) Lanikai Beach - best beach
5) Pearl Harbor - You know...
6) Polynesian Cultural Center

These are a few of the best places to go and things to do. We went to all these and plenty more on our vacation. We often used the link http://www.sharinghawaii.com/oahu/ac...t-do-oahu.html for a list of the best attractions on Oahu. You will find this extremely useful. My wife and i are planning on reurning for our 3rd trip later this year. Yeah we loved it that much. Aloha!

For the Chinatown tour, contact Tony Chang at [email protected].

I might add trying a snow cone of sorts (what we call "shave -- not shaved -- ice" at Waoli Store in town or Matsumoto's in Haleiwa on the North Shore.
