Honeymooning in Tahoe
I am getting married on the first weekend in November. We are taking our honeymoon to Lake Tahoe. How is the weather this time of year? Will we be able to ski or snowmobile at Heavenly? We are staying in South Lake Tahoe. Any recommendations of fun and/or interesting things to do? Budget is not a consideration. Thank you!!!!

Dear Sheri,

Best wishes on our upcoming nuptials!
We don't usually have snow by that time of the year, well not enough to ski on.
The weather will be pretty cold, definitly late fall temps.
Tahoe is always beautiful. There may be some trees that are still changing their colors at that time.

It's been several years since I've been to Tahoe, but I just want to tell you how envious I am of you. I love it there - breathtaking beauty. Take a ride around the lake. Congratulations!
Sheri -- Congratulations! I've been to Tahoe at that time of year and it's great. You probably won't be able to ski, but you will be ahead of the ski season so the area will be way less crowded.

Cardigans, blazers or light jackets will probably be what you need. Take 3/4 of a day and enjoy a drive around the lake; Emerald Bay is beautiful for pictures.
Bring hiking shoes and explore. Rent bikes and ride the trail along the State Park near the "Y" junction. On your tour of the lake, visit Squaw Valley and take the tram to the top (with or without snow).

You are definitely visiting in the off season. The weather will be quite chilly to downright cold depending on your perspective of cold weather. About the only activity that I would do during that time is visit the casinos.
