Honeymoon in Sedona - Help

My fiance and I are getting married in November and are considering Sedona for our honeymoon. We want to do a bed & breakfast that has a fireplace and a jacuzzi/whirlpool tub. A few places we are considering are the Briar Patch Inn (although they aren't ranked very high on TripAdvisor), The Penrose, and Boots & Saddles (which is ranked #1 in B&B on TripAdvisor) Any suggestions on places to stay? Any suggestions on hikes (we're from New Orleans, so we're not used to hiking mountains and hills)/tours/things not to miss? Any information would be helpful. I've been researching for so long and all the information is running together. Thanks.

Here is a web site for hikes

http://www.hikearizona.com/Region-Hikes.php?RID=9

The hike around Bell Rock and Courthouse butte is not at all difficult. But the elevation is much higher than you are used to, so you would want to take it easy. And take plenty of water.

Don't miss the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

Lots of other things to do in northern AZ. I can send you a list with clickable links if you would like. Just send me an email and I will get it to you.

You should DEFINITELY consider staying at Enchantment Resort. I know many casitas have fireplaces and I think I remember private pools, maybe jacuzzis. One can hike right off their property, either easy or more climbing if you like. The setting is stunning. Great views of the red rock canyon walls from their restaurant. If you don't stay there, at least drive out for a hike, meal, or drink in the bar.

There was another recent thread with a similar title. You should try to hunt it up by using the search box and type Sedona honeymoon.

I did read that post, but it doesn't address the bed & breakfast places that I'm looking at. I must have read through 200 posts, but I haven't heard much about them yet. I'm hoping someone will have some experience with them. Thanks.

What about that place that rents cabins out in Oak Creek Canyon... The father built them all, like 50 years ago, and now one of the sons runs the place...

My husband and I stayed at the Canyon Villa Inn and absolutely loved it. The room had a jacuzzi, a fireplace and an amazing view of Bell Rock right from your bed and/or jacuzzi. They served a delicious breakfast and afternoon appetizers. Very nice place. Would stay there again.

Thank you for the suggestion of the Enchantment Resort. It looks very tranquil. That is just a little out of our budget though. I was really hoping someone could offer opinions about the B&B I was looking at.

Hello BCH,
Spent 3 nights at the Briar Patch Inn/Sedona over the Christmas holiday. The cabins are very rustic/southwestern/cozy and does not have that upscale decor/atmosphere if this is what you are looking for. There are no telephones or TVs in the cabins and this is how the owners want it to be. Each cabin has different decor, some w/full kitchens, some larger in size than others, bedrooms vs studios. There are a few very nice cabins that are located right alongside the creek which are more upscale. (Perhaps you can check out ea and every cabin on their website if you haven't already done so?) How ideal for a honeymoon! It is a beautiful sight. The grounds are beautiful w/sheep grazing t/o the day. The staff was very helpful and friendly and will cater to your every need. What I loved most was our large fireplace that we burned almost day and night while we were there. A maintenance man delivered wood daily and set up the fireplaces for the clientele for ea cabin. All you have to do is light a match and presto. If you need addl wood, it is stored right on the patio of cabin, or nearby. The owner, elderly gentlemen, in a wheelchair, lives in beautiful home on the property grounds. His son now runs the inn. A healthy breakfast is included ea morning inside the office area. Afterwards you can stroll the beautiful grounds and sit by the babbling creek. There is no spa facilities so-to-speak, but arrangements can be made and massusse will come to the property as there is a small bldg. just for that which is right alongside the creek.
The location of inn is about 5 miles from town.
Hope this helps.

Well, I made my reservations today. I chose the Boots & Saddles B & B. Irth, one of the innkeepers took my reservation and she sounded so sweet. She even called me back to take my reservation even though they are on vacation. I think I made the right choice. Thanks for everyone's help. I can't wait for my honeymoon in November.
