Honeymoon in Maui this July - PLEASE HELP!

This forum was so helpful in planning my proposal last year (top of the Eiffel Tower!) that I know I'll get some great advice now that it's time to plan my honeymoon.

I'm looking for an intimate and different place to stay on Maui for the 2nd week of july. This will be our first visit, and I know almost nothing about Hawaii. Thanks!

Hi Rob,

We got married in Maui last May and stayed at the Four Seasons. It sounds like you want something a bit away from it all. I would suggest the Ritz Carlton or the Hotel Hana Maui. While we were there we notice the Plantation Inn and the Lahaina Inn (both in Lahaina). we said when we returned we would definitely stay week in one before returning the Four Seasons. Both were very charming inns.

If you want away from the "madding" crowd, I found someplace that a friend told me about:

I had intended to rent the Blue Ginger Hideaway, but waited too long and it was already rented for our trip next week. My friend said it was an amazing place for the $ and VERY romantic.

We be here:

for our stay, thanks to VRBO.com.
I have high hopes that we will be disappointed.

Good luck! Have a great time and I hope you find the "perfect" place for your honeymoon.

I did almost 2 years of research on places to stay during our Hawaiian Honeymoon last September and after reading all the reviews I could find I had decided on this place:
http://www.maui.net/~paliuli/waterfallhouse.html

By the time I had nearly completed all of our accommodation picks and activities (we were in Hawaii for 22 days and 5 islands), we realized that we wanted to stay in ONE resort during our Honeymoon to get all that pampering so we changed our plans and chose to stay at the 4 Seasons on Maui.

By coincidence, while we were sailing on a GREAT day snorkel trip with Rainbow Riders (just 3 couples and the captain and helper) Soooo nice. This is not to be missed by honeymooners if you can afford it. It's much better than sharing a trip with 15-30 people. We had our own cabin on board to change and relax if you want to.
Anyway..... I digress......... during this day trip, as we were talking to the other 2 couples, we found out that one of the couples was staying at the
Waterfall House. I told them that we had planned to stay there and I wondered how they liked it. They said the LOVED it there. It was very centrally located and great for the trip to Hana and the Haleakala Trip. Plus it is a nice drive to Mama's Fishhouse too. They said they would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Take a look.
