My husband and I are wanting to take our honeymoon trip in December and we are looking to stay in the United States. Any suggestions?

If you want warm, I'd go to Key West or Hawaii.

If you want cold and ski I'd go to Aspen or Vail.

If you want city, New York City without a doubt.

We went to Hawaii and loved it - would highly recommend it. There's natural beauty, adventure, romance - it's hard to beat in my book. How many days will you have?

We will have a full week for the trip.

If Hawaii interests you, we spent a full week in Maui and snorkeled at Molokini, went to the Old Lahaina Luau, did the Road to Hana, watched the sunrise at Haleakala and spent time relaxing on the beautiful beaches. The Wailea area is really pretty and romantic. We also enjoyed the Big Island and Kauai, but with only a week, I would probably stick to just one island.

Do you mean THIS December, as in next month? Can you give a little more info on your interests like outdoor versus city and whether you want cold weather or warm? Where are you coming from? (If you live in NYC you don't want to honeymoon there.) It's hard to give advice without particulars.

I agree New York would be great, but December is part of their high season and without a hotel reservation now, you may have trouble.

Hawaii is not the best weather in December, its the rainiest season there. (Conversely, its also the highest tourist season, esp around Christmas, not sure when you honeymoon would be.) Check weather websites for rain info before committing to Hawaii in December, esp if you only have a week and can't move to another island if you get stuck in rain on one island. If you do pick Hawaii, the west coast of the big island is going to be the driest in December.
