Honeymoon in Carolinas in June

Trying to plan a week long honeymoon in late June. My hubby-to-be is a very active person (loves to jet ski, water ski, boat and mountain bike) and I like to read a book on the beach. Does anyone have suggestions as to where we can find both relaxation and activity? Also, suggestions on where to stay on the outer banks would be great!

I read about Kitty Hawk Kite Company and thought hang-gliding and wind sailing might be the ticket but I am open to other suggestions.

Thanks!

Congratulations on your wedding, Marjo Elaine. If you are looking for a gorgeous resort on the beach the Sanderling Hotel in Duck, NC is just the ticket. Check it out. You can bike, hike, nature watch, lounge on the beach, hangglide, surf, you name it. Plus they have an excellent on site spa.

You can also go kayaking at various locations in the OBX. There is a bicycle trail along the beach road, at least in Nags Head area.

Climb to the top of either Hatteras or Corolla lighthouses.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the Sanderling Hotel online but it is a little too pricey for my budget. Anything else?

www.southernshores.com

rent a house - they have all sizes - you can then cook all your meals and save a bundle.

Would stay in Duck - as heading toward kitty hawk/nags head its not as bucolic anymore - just a lot of strip malls. But yes, you can do hanggliding there - its only about a 20 minute drive.
