Honeymoon in Arizona

My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon to AZ the last week of August. We plan to fly into Phoenix and go to Sedona and the GC. Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Sedona Resort? It sounds like a lovely place. I haven't seen any comments about it here.
Also, with the really hot weather in Phoenix, should we stay our 7 nights in Sedona or take a few days to stay in Phoenix.
Any other suggestions for the honeymooners?

If you stay in Phoenix for a few days, make sure and splurge on a room at one of the many wonderful resorts. Since it's off season, you should be able to get a good rate and treat yourself to some luxury.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I would definitely split my time - Sedona for 4 days/PHX for 3 days. I would also suggest you stay at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona - absolutely sublime! Make sure you do a day trip to the Grand Canyon too (it's not that far from Sedona). The other poster is right, PHX has some great rates right now for the summer. I just returned from being there this past week (and Sedona). Try the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale - gorgeous - there was a special listed in the paper this week for $129, but even if you have to pay a little more for a casita room, it's well worth it. Rooms there in the winter go from $450 - $1500! Have a great time.

Hilton Sedona Resort...anyone stayed there or have any comments about it? Please help!

Haven't stayed there karen. I suspect the reason you're getting few bites is that the Hilton Sedona isn't a 'destination' type hotel. When people go to Sedona for a special trip, the choices usually include L'Auberge, Enchantment, Los Abrigados, or one of the upscale B&B's. I've been to Sedona many times and can't recall anything about the Hilton.

I would second staying at Enchantment Resort in Sedona. It is located in Boynton canyon, where the views truly are enchanting. L'Auberge would be a close second. In Phoenix/Scottsdale, I would stay at Phoenician (and splurge on dinner at Mary Elaine's, The Hyatt at Gainey Ranch, or even Royal Palms (smaller resort, but very romantic).
