Honeymoon - Hilton Head, Charleston, Savannah
 

I posted about a week ago regarding a honeymoon in Hilton Head. Originally my fiance and I were thinking of going to Vegas, then we were thinking of Mexico... and now another possibility came up.

My mother and stepfather own a villa in Hilton Head. We all just got back from visiting there and staying at the villa for a few days. My mom suggested I save money and stay in their villa for free for our honeymoon. Sounds like a good idea.

Our budget is $2000 for everything. We were originally going to spend slightly over for an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, but with this plan we could spend $2000 or slightly less for food, entertainment, flight, and rental car.

We are thinking of staying at the villa, and visiting Savannah, Charleston, and possibly the triangle area of North Carolina.

Any suggestions? Places to eat? I'd love to hear from others who have had their honeymoon in the above areas.

In case you don't get a better answer.I would endorse HHI. I have never honeymooned there but you could eat and shop until you drop for $2K.Don't overpreplan, read earlier SC POSTS for HHI restaurants. Start with a trip to Savannah (which has a great visitor guide) and then do what you feel like.My only concern is a warning about hurricane season.Not a deal killer but it could always necessitate a 1-day trip inland.
