Honeymoon Help!

My fiancee and I are going on our honeymoon July 1st-8th and would like to go to Key West. The problem that we're having is where should we stay??? We don't have too many requirements, but would like to stay someplace fun, looking for lots of activities, and someplace other than a B&B that's in the middle of all the action. Not too worried about money, so please let us know what's out there and what you recommend for a young 20 something couple. Thanks. <BR>

Congratulations Megan. I don't have any suggestions for you as far as acccommodations since I always stay at B&Bs (and you specifically said "other than..."). However, I did want you to realize that it is miserably hot in July. I live in New Orleans and found KW to be even warmer in the summer. As long as you know about the heat and humidity and are okay with it, then go for it!

Hi, Megan! John's absolutely right about the heat, which can be really oppressive during the summer. Having said that, I'll give you two recommendations on Front Street for a great place to stay. The Hyatt Resort and the Ocean Key House are very near each other, are both in the middle of the "action," both on the Gulf, and both within walking distance of lots of restaurants and tourist activities. I've stayed at the Hyatt several times, but not at the Ocean Key House. In my opinion, the pool and grounds of the Hyatt is superior, but I understand the rooms of the Ocean Key House are wonderful. You won't go wrong with either.

It can be hot, but don't let that scare you. there's plenty of water to jump in down there. plus, there are usually some nice ocean breezes. check out www.fla-keys.com for lodging (and other stuff).

Congratulations! We've done Key West in July and had a great time in spite of the intense sun. We rented scooters 1 block from where we stayed. We love inns and found one with your own private deck with large hot tub and outdoor shower that you can use during daylight without voyeurs. It was one block off Duval, so it was close to the action. We will be returning this July and staying at the Seascape Inn at the Treetop Studio in the Eyebrow House. My favorite website for Key West is Keywestparadise.com. The pictures of the The Treetop Studio looks even better in person than in the pictures, and the bath has a huge shower for 2. I share this info only because your dates are dif. than ours. =)
