Honeymoon Drive from Sonoma to Big Sur
 

Hi! We're planning our honeymoon -- staying in Sonoma for (4-5 days) and then driving to Big Sur (4-5 days). Wouldn't mind breaking up the drive staying at a scenic place along the way overnight -- or just multiple stops for hiking, and natural points of interest.

Any recommendations for places between Sonoma and Big Sur that are "must see"?

Half Moon Bay?

Santa Cruz/Monterey?

Pescadero is a sweet little place to stop for lunch, an hour south of San Francisco a mile off Hwy 1, 45 minutes before Santa Cruz. Duarte's is a good place to eat, have a walk around the village, then stay inland briefly on Cloverdale Rd, past Butano State Park (redwoods) and arrive back at Hwy 1 near the Pigeon Point lighthouse, another nice stop that doesn't take long. By far the best stop on that great section of coast (IMO)
