Honeymoon Destination! Need Help!

Getting married May 31, looking for something that can be done for $2500 or under. No beaches, please--we're from Myrtle Beach. Looking for adventure and senic sight-seeing. Also something that will be very romantic. Thanks!

Go up to the Canadian Rockies. Beautiful scenery, go heli-hiking, the dollar is way in our favor.

What about Sante Fe? Very romantic. Great restaurants, shopping, art.

How about MacInaw Island (spelling? will have to look that up, lol) in Michigan. It is a small island, no cars, only horse drawn carriages and beautiful scenery. Early June is just about the perfect time of year to be there. Good restaurants, and some beautiful B&B's.

Hope this helps, have a wonderful trip.

tweedy

We married on the 23rd of May 10 years ago and went to Scottsdale Arizona, where you are sure to get a deal that time of year....moved on to Sedona, and then the Grand Canyon. Loved it so much we returned for our first anniversary. GL

The North Georgia Mountains are beautiful. There are romantic cabins to rent and lots to do in the Blue Ridge area. Here's two of our favorite cabin rentals websites: www. thelastresort.com also www. blackbearcabinrentals.com

That would be a wonderful time to go to Paris if you can get reasonable airfare. It should be well w/in your price range if you are planning on a week or less.

Plenty of Old Southern Plantation that will rent out for weddings. There was a similar thread on this a while back I will top it for you.

Some suggestions: Key West, New Orleans, New York City, Paris or London, New Mexico, Canada (Toronto, Quebec City) Hope that helps.

I second the Canadian Rockies. Went there on my honeymoon in Mid-July 12 yrs ago. We flew into Calgary then rented a car for CHEAP and drove to Banff. Stayed at the Sunshine Village Resort up on a mtn. Only accessible by gondolas (tram up the mtn). Very romantic. There you can take a ski lift over the top of the mtn and stand on a platform looking out over the continental divide. AWESOME! Tons of hiking trails there too. We continued up to Jasper stopping to ride the 6-wheel drive bus out onto the glaciers just underneath the Columbian Ice Fields (needed leather coat even in July there but not elsewhere). In Jasper we did the Maligne River whitewater rafting trip and when done we really felt like real whitewater rafters even though we set out as a couple farm kids from the midwest. Stayed at Pyramid Lake resort just outside of Jasper, very peaceful with the mtns reflecting off the lake.
