Homewood Suites Free light dinners
 

Has anyone tried the free light dinners that Homewood suites has listed on their websites? Just wondered if it was anything worth trying?

We stayed at a Homewood Suites a few years back and the light dinners were definitely ample enough to make into a supper. As I recall, they'd offer a hot dish like spaghetti and meatballs or a casserole that was fairly tasty, plus salad and perhaps bread as well. It was buffet style, so you could get as much as you wanted. They also had beer, wine, etc. We were very impressed with the value of what they served.

I often stay at Homewood Suites when traveling on business. This is not homecooking by any means, but will certainly serve - think of the bulk foods you might buy at BJs, Sams,or Costco. Usually there's a tossed salad along with whatever hot entree is offered. Also, there is free beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. Breakfast can be pretty good, too.

We have also stayed at several Homewood Suites and enjoy the light dinners. Even if you don't want a whole meal, you can eat a salad or chips and salsa for a snack before going to dinner and being able to have a glass or two of wine is wonderful.

We stayed at Homewood Suites in Chicago a few years ago with our kids and the light meals were definitely a good deal for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the food available. Since they also served a nice breakfast there, we only had to pay for our lunch each day.

They evening meals Mon-Thu are great for children and just find for anybody who doesn't want to go out for dinner.

That isn't us. We like to go out for dinner in the evening while traveling, so we skip the hot dogs, lasagna, etc.

Oh, good point, happytrailstoyou. This is only a Monday thru Thursday event; don't expect to find it Friday/Saturday/ Sunday. Breakfast is every day, but a bit later on the weekends.
