Hologram Museum

When I was in NYC about 15 years ago we went to a hologram museum tucked down a little side street in Manhattan. It was unbelievably cool and I'd love to take my kids there when we go in December. Unfortunately, I can't find any information about it now. Does anyone know if it still exists?

Alas, the Museum of Holography on Mercer Street is no more. Their collections went mostly to the MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA, which now has over 1500 holographic images covering the entire history of holography.

Dang! That place was amazing. Well, we'll just have to put the MIT Museum on our agenda when we get to Boston one of these days. Thanks for the info.

reg519, I went to that museum when it first opened in the 70's, I think it was. Very cool to find out the collection is still around in some form. I thought it was amazing.

I saw a small scale hologram exhibit at Tokyo Tower last spring. It was great (sholcky presentation, but the holograms were incredible). Thanks for the tip- we are going to Boston this year and will check out MIT's collection.
