Hollywood Orchid Suites Hotel

Hello... was wondering if anyone could comment about this hotel. It offers a large suite at a not-so-large price which would accomodate my group of four nicer than most others I've inquired about. I'm having trouble locating a similar type of room in my price range and in an area I'd like to be.

Any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Since no one has replied, I'll jump in. I live in LA, so I haven't stayed there. However, the location is fine. It's on a street behind the new Hollywood & Highland shopping complex so you are within walking distance of Hollywood Blvd. If you look on www.tripadvisor.com, there are a couple of reviews of this hotel that are favorable. The Magic Castle Hotel located close by is also suites and I recommend it often to friends.

Deborah,
Thanks for your reply back. I'm gonna give the Magic Castle another look. I also just found a 2-bedroom/2-bath suite at the Comfort Inn for $160 a night, which I am leaning heavily towards right now. And thanks for tipping me onto the Tripadvisor.com website... I already added it to my list of favorites.

You are welcome. Which Comfort Inn are you speaking about?

The Comfort Inn is at North Highland... I was told it is a pretty new property. (Two years old this December)

I'm only spending two nights in L.A. so I probably shouldn't worry so much about finding the "perfect" place to stay, but when other people are coming with me I like to do the best I can in finding an ideal place; economically, aesthetically and for ease of getting around.

Thanks for taking the time to help a mid-westerner out.

Well, I am also a midwesterner (grew up in OH), so there you go. The address of that Comfort Inn is right in the same area as the other 2 hotels, so it's still an ok area. There is also a Holiday Inn Expres and Best Western right there to give you more options. I really like the Magic Castle Hotel. Has a nice pool too.

I second the Magic Castle Hotel. As a plus you get access to the Magic Castle, which is awesome. I just recently wrote a pretty thorough trip report about it here: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34449400
