Considering I started out asking about Holiday Inn South Beach...there has sure been a lot of ground covered.

realphoebes, I don't know if you booked anything yet but unless you get a really good deal on the Wyndham Miami Beach (can't speak for the other Wyndham hotels), skip it. Location not too great and the hotel is so so. We got upgraded to ocean front but the hotel just didn't click with me.

The Avelon and South Seas are both nice, middle of the road hotels.
