HOLIDAY INN F. LAUDERDALE feedback please

I found a deal at this hotel. Although it doesn't meet all my requirements, the price is very, very good for over Christmas. Has anyone stayed there? THANK YOU for your ongoing assistance.

Hope I get a reply soon!!!!!!!!!

phoebes, I honestly think you would regret not staying in Lauderdale By The Sea. While I love FLL, the former has so much more charm.

GOTRAVELI know that you love FLBTS. With the exchange I have to pay on Canadian $$$, I am retinking my requirements. There is a Holiday Inn at FLBTS also. I can also get a great rate there, too. How do you feel about that property?

phoebes-I have stayed at this hotel. It is a good hotel for the money. Not a "resort" by any means, but decent none-the-less. Location is good-right across the street from the ocean, and right at the beginning of the Ft.L strip where you can enjoy walking to shops and restaurants. Beach is across the street. There is a decent pool area in the back. Rooms are basic holiday Inn-no balconies here, but you could request an ocean-view(actually I think all rooms are ocean view, but get on a high floor.

Do you mean the Holiday Inn on the beach? If so, and while you wait for more responses, have a look at the following (mixed) tripadvisor reviews:

You may consider using Hotwire - most of the hotels that appear for Fort Lauderdale are easily identifiable, the Holiday Inn being one of them.

I'm afraid I can't help anymore than that, I recently stayed at the Sheraton Yankee Trader for my only stay here.

Realphoebes, HI!...Just curious....Did you book flights out of To or Buffalo or someplace else in Canada? Curious as to Holiday fares at this late date. Or, did you book flights some time ago?

I stayed there a couple of years ago. The room was on a high floor, and had an ocean view. It's not a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but the location is good - directly across the street from the beach, and if you're on a budget it should be ok.
Have fun!

this hotel has received generally favorable reviews. i'll be there next week, having bid $55 on Priceline. it is a basic place to hang your hat, with a great location. don't expect a resort experience. if you're looking for anything more than basic stay elsewhere.

I booked a flight out of Detroit, Michigan sometime ago. I have been making all my other arrangements, the past 3 weeks. This forum has been VERY VALUABLE to me.
I am so thankful for the suggestions!
