Holiday Inn Boardwalk Las Vegas
I have a reservation here for three nights in spring at a $56.70 rate. Seems like a good price for a good location right on the strip which I prefer so I can walk around without needing to drive. Not looking for a fancy hotel as we will not spend much time in the room anyway. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel?
check out www.cheapovegas.com or www.lvol.com and you'll find some specifics.
BTW, many of the 'big name' hotels on the strip may well have rates in this neighborhood if you're going on weekdays. Be sure to compare cheaper places like NYNY and such also.
it is a dump......try some hotel websites and get on their e-mail list..I`m always getting special offers...Flamingo just had one...that is a better location...try Barbary Coast...no pool but great value...or Bally`s ...etc....Boardwalk is too far down the strip anyway...that is a scary place....good luck and have fun..cheapovegas.com is great site...
It's not a great location, and it looked so bad the last time I walked by it, I thought it had closed down. I'm sure you can get a rate close to that further up on the strip.
That is in a very bad section of town. You can get the same rate at Monte Carlo & Flamingo to name a few & they are right in the middle of the action.
Please do not listen to the others as to the location of this property. It is between the Monte Carlo and the Bellagio! Prime Strip location!!!! Please read the reviews though..it is an older hotel but if that dosent matter to you...just keep thinking..Location...Location...Location!!!
xxx is trying to get you mugged, Diane.

This is straight from www.cheapovegas.com, and their reviews are the most honest you can find (IMHO). "Casino Boy Says: Golly, folks. I'd rather spend a day in the urine and litter under the Boardwalk than a day in this place."
Oh my gosh, do not listen to anyone who says it's a dump- it was renovated a few years ago- it's a GREAT BARGAIN, amongst all the hot hotels. Stayed here and it was very clean and nice and I'm a freak about hotels. Truly a great location right on the strip, easy to walk anywhere. Keep your resrvaton for SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roadtripper, you're WAAAAY wrong about the location. It's a prime strip location. It's just not that nice a hotel, that's what CasinoBoy is saying when he maligns the place.
It is fine except for the thin drapes, it is like day time in the middle of the night with floodlights shining into the rooms.
Now I'm truly confused about what to do. We are also considering Alexis Park Hotel (rates are around $100) and Gold Coast. Both are off the strip.

Thanks to all for your input. Any other advice?
Alexis Park is essentially an apartment complex. Rooms are laerger than average but many people I've spoken with have complained about inconsistent quality and spotty service. Plus it's off the strip.

Diane, when are you going to LV?
I find it hard to believe that you can't find anything better than the Boardwalk or Gold Coast. Give us dates and we can check some rates at other places, preferably newer places on the strip.
Oh, hush. I was just in LV 3 weeks ago & it WAS a dump. It's a no-brainer, see: when she can get the SAME rate at a MUCH nicer hotel, it's just not worth it at all. THAT is the point.
Diane.... check out expedia.com..punch in your dates and they will give you a whole list of hotels with the rates..we are going the 29th and 30th of this month tue and wed night at NYNY 59 a night..many other hotels right in that range. as for the Boardwalk..why have hamburger when you can have steak for the same price????
