Hocking Hills stay and Columbus visit

We'll be visiting our daughter who recently moved to Columbus. She wants to spend a couple of nights in Hocking Hills, and from viewing photos, we're really excited about going! Firstly, we'd like a nice cabin for 4 people (two bathrooms) and we'd like any recommendations, please! Any quaint towns to visit on the way? Any other suggestions in and around Columbus to visit, restaurants, etc.
I know this is quite vague, but we're pretty much up for anything and really want to experience and see some of the wonderful things that Ohio has to offer.

Hocking Hills is wonderful!! You will love it! There are hundreds of cottages. I recommend a cottage with a hot tub in the woods. There are many parks to hike in that are georous! My favorite is Old Mans Cave! If you google you will find more information than you can use. You want to look for a cottage on any of those sites, here is one:

Another place to visit would be German Village in Columbus:

Dayton,Ohio has the best aviation museum that you will ever see. You can actually spend a whole day there: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/

Several good posts on here re: both Hocking Hills & Columbus.

Yes, I think we are going to love it from everything we've seen online!
I'd read the posts on both Columbus and Hocking Hills and bookmarked by cutting, pasting, printing and putting it all into a condensed homemade version of an "Ohio" travel booklet for our trip.
As for cabins, I was hoping to see any recent recommendations - Tripadvisor might fit the bill for that, though.
We're really getting excited to visit the area!

Thank you so much for all the websites - looks like I'll be busy tonight!

In Columbus, this place was recommended to my daughter: http://www.scaliristorante.com/home.html
Also, are there some recommended quaint towns on the way to Hocking Hills? And is the amish area worth a drive to?

I was just in the Hocking Hills this past weekend. I'm still writing up my blog posts, but I do have some info there on morels, as well as Etta's Lunchbox Cafe & Museum. More TK...happy to answer questions.

Chris - thanks so much, I've just finished reading your posts and will be a fan from now on! I was especially interested in and glued to your post on the morel hunting trip. How cool was that!?
San - thank you for all of your tips : )
My notes are getting thicker and it looks like we'll have a great time come June/July!

That's really adventurous! I don't know if I'm up for that, but my daughter, her partner and my husband may be.
I've always wanted to see the ascent of dozens at one time. remember reading about the annual Albuquerque festival - how lovely that must be!
Thank you so much, again!
