Hip Fashion in LA

Hi, I am not from the US and would like to know which are the hippest clothing or shoe stores in LA and New York. Even if anyone can suggest good websites to look at. It's so hard to find good fashion in my country that I'm forced to look abroad. I'm looking for preferably high end stores.

In the Los Angeles area, one of the hippest stores for young trendy women is Fred Segal in Santa Monica and West Hollywood. As far as neighborhoods of hip clothes: Melrose Ave in the Hollywood neighborhood, West Hollywood in general, some places in Beverly Hills like Gucci, Main Street in Santa Monica....

I'd check out Robertson Blvd (from Burton, north) - that's where you'll find Kitson, Madison and Lisa Kline, American Apparel is across the street. Stella McCartney is up the street on Beverly.

Montana in Santa Monica also has great stores, but may be far depending on where you're staying.

American Rag, Apartment 3, Homework, and other stores are on La Brea Blvd.

You can google any of the stores above and should be able to find more than enough information about what they carry.

Hi, thanks for the tips. I'm actually not going to LA, I need to check websites of shops. Unfortunately Fred Segal doesn't have a website for the clothing department (only beauty). I've looked at Kitson. If anyone knows the names of other good shops, that would be great.

Are there no other shops people can recommend? I'm really in the mood for some online shopping.

thanks for the websites. I've looked now on all of them. I've also found 2 other good ones, activeendeavours.com and karizmaboutique.com.

I once saw a mazazine article where actress Debra Messing of "Will & Grace" mentioned www.bluefly.com.

I have become a regular online "window shopper" there. The site is rather overwhelming due to the sheer quentity of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and handbags so you need to either shop by size or designer or clothing article type to make it more manageable.

I drop serious money at www.BlueFly.com and they carry everyone!
