Hilton Head w/Kids in the Rain
 

We're heading to HH next week for a reunion with 4 families including 5 kids, aged 4-6. Weather forecast is scattered t-storms every day Sat - Tues. Yikes! We'll all go crazy if we have to stay in the house that long - any ideas from you pros on what we can do / where we can go to keep kids amused and parents sane? Thanks!

Adventure Cove has lots of indoor activities. A 4 story inclosed climbing unit, bumper cars, laser guns, arcades, food vendors and outdoors they have 2 minature golf courses and a regular driving range. They're located on corner of 278 and Folly Field Rd. There's also a bowling alley. Just because rain is predicted doesn't mean we get it, the clouds often just pass over.

Those "scattered thunderstorms" sometimes don't come at all (hence the "scattered" part) and even when they do, they don't last all day, more like an hour or two usually. Just long enough to refresh everything! Teach the kids to play poker, it will sharpen their minds.

That's funny. I'm also going to be in HH from this Saturday thru Tuesday with 3 kids from ages 5 to 12. I'm not worried about the rain. It rains almost every afternoon and passes quickly. Great time for the afternoon nap after spending the day at the pool or beach!

It usually rains about 4 times a week. They are late afternoon thunderstorms that rarely appear before 6PM. They roll in just in time to send everyone off the beach to shower and change for dinner.

Yep, the National Weather Service Emergency Alert System (you know that thing they blast on your radio "this is a test, if it had been an actual warning.....")just went off and we are under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Our afternoon thunderstorms are doozies. Seek shelter immediately because the lightning is wicked.

Also, keep in mind that the ocean breeze will sometimes keep the rain clouds off the beach. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the beach with clear weather and it has been raining across the street from the beach.
