Hilton Head tourist trap vs non restaurants
 

My husband and his 2 adult children have 3 days in Hilton Head this weekend. I'v ebeen trying to find restaurant suggestions here, all I can find are "child-friendly" posts. Hmmm. Okay, they like about any kind of food, so how about 2 nights' suggestions nice seafood place, not over the top price, good reputation, etc. They are staying in Harbor Town, but have transportation. Thank you!

We were in HHI last August. The most upscale place we visited was called Alligator Grille in the strip shopping center just outside Sea Pines gate. It was lovely, the food was good, and definitely not for little kids. Our 14 yr old daughter was with us and she enjoyed the mussels, which were very good. We also visited La Famiglia, a small family run Italian restaurant. The Oyster Factory did have an awful lot of little kids but the food was good and the bar was very nice and there was live entertainment on the deck when we visited. Cafe Europa and Salty Dog in Sea Pines also would both be good, although not exclusively seafood. Hope that helps.

The Oyster Factory is good. Plan to go early or plan to wait.
Hudson's is also good. We usually go there a couple of times each trip.
We also like Charley's.
Hudson's is our favorite.

In April, you should be able to dine at your leisure without long lines?

* Redfish. Exceptional wine selection, and while they do charge a corkage, still a great deal as you pick from the bottles on hand. The food ain't bad either.

*The Studio. Intelligent menu, well executed. Intimate, perfect for a long leisurely ADULT dinner.

Sally's as mentioned above is a great resource, and right on. You may find something that appeals to your family's tastes more there.
