Hilton Head Hisland

My girlfirends grandfather received a week in a beach house in HHI for his retirement and has invited the whole family. I don't golf and I get bored easily with just sitting on the beach. Aside from the bike trails what is around HHI that might be interesting? My dream vacations would be natural parks like Zion or Arches or the ever exciting Las Vegas, but my girlfriend just loves the beach. We plan on staying four nights in Hilton Head and three in Myrtle Beach where I'll find more excitement. So what is in Hilton Head that I can get exicted about?

You might enjoy a kayak tour. Check out outsidehiltonhead.com.

HHI is one of our favorite spots and its great for water sports so you don't have to sit on the beach. Also you can take a charter trip to see the dophins which is fun.

Kayaking was definitely the first thing that came to mind. A daytrip to Savannah (about 45 minute drive) would be fun. Interesting history, fun restaurants & bars there...

As early 30's we golf a little, and were bored there for more than just a few days.

Relax, you'll be pleasantly surprised. My favorites are Grand Teton NP & HHI.The Savannah suggestion is perfect. For more research check out the Island Packet (newspaper) and Sea Pines on the Internet.Beaufort is another easy, half day trip. Don't know your ages but you might want to consider a girls outing to nearby Parris Island (Marine Boot Camp)which is very open and accessible.
