Hilton Head golfing?

heading to Hilton Head in March and I'm overwhelmed by the number of golf courses - hoping someone can direct me. there will be 4 of us in the party - dh, myself and our 2 boys - 10yo and 15yo - both boys have had many golf lessons and we are all ok golfers - we do it for fun though and don't take it seriously.

I'm looking for at least 2 course recommendations that would be suitable for us as a family and reasonably priced - 18 holes, not too difficult or the 10yo will get frustrated.

I'm pretty sure some (or perhaps many) of the courses have special "family" tees that are open in the afternoon. The idea is that a family can play together from tees that are way up (making the course much easier), usually at a discounted rate.

I'd suggest checking with Sea Pines. You would not want to play their "Harbour Town" course, but the Ocean course or perhaps Heron Point would work.

I believe I may have seen these tees at Palmetto Hall as well.

great - thanks! I will check them out - the 10yo and I usually use the closer T's but the 15yo and my dh usually use the ones a bit farther away.

Check out if the place your staying has any affiliated courses for better pricing. There is a brochure that many retail stores at HHI have called Island Golf. It has coupons, rates. You might be able to access on line. There is a major difference in morning versus afternoon rates. Plan accordingly.

The courses at Palmetto Dunes are of excellent quality at a decent price. I'd recommend starting there. The ones at Sea Pines are really nice, and cost a good bit more as a result.

Palmetto Hall is also a nice option with multiple courses.

Definitely look into the Palmetto Dunes courses - they have the Robert Trent Jones and George Fazio courses. I just played there in Oct. Pretty good priced as well. Harbour Town is super nice, but probably too expensive for what you described.
