Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki
Saw a brief message on local news that some rooms in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel complex were closed because of a mold problem. If anyone has stayed there recently, I would appreciate their take on the situation. How bad is the mold and how wide spread throughout the property? We have reservations in February. Should we cancel? Where should we stay?

It's the Kalia Tower that's closed.
We had reservations there for 1 night in July in that tower and had to switch hotels. Just make sure that's not the tower you're booked in. It had something to do with the chemicals used in building the tower in 2001 - that's what the article in Maui News said. They also mentioned the Lagoon Tower showing up with some mold but that it wasn't at dangerous levels.

We are staying at the Hilton for 2 nights in October and then spending a further 2 nights on board a cruise ship in Honolulu. Our must sees are the Kodak Hula Show, Punchbowl Cemetery and Pearl Harbour. Will we need to rent a car or will taxis and buses get us where we want to go?

You can walk to the Kodak Hula show from your hotel. The Bus can take you to Punchbowl cemetary and Pearl Harbour but the ridr can be very long and time consuming.Since you have such a short time I would reccomend renting a car and see Pearl Harbour in the morning and the cemetary in the afternoon.
