Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort

Has anyone out there stayed at this resort. Will be there the last week of March. Wondering about the resort. Is the beach area nice? How about the restaurants in this area? Traveling with 2 familys of 4. Two 11 year olds and a couple of teenagers. Is this resort fun? Any info would be appreciated.<BR>Thanks Linda

Have not stayed at the Hilton, but can tell you that the beach in Clearwater is really nice. The kids will love it. Our kids enjoyed fishing off the pier- they also loved the miniature golf course just up the main drag. Frenchy's is just south of the pier, right on the beach, a fun place for a bite to eat. Adam's Mark hotel has a great outside Tiki Bar. Lovely patio overlooking the Gulf. Rum runners are excellent, food is good, kids will like sitting at a table where you catch a spray from the waves crashing against the rocks. Can't wait to visit in February. Enjoy!

There is another posting here somewhere asking about this same hotel. We stayed there for a conference at the end of March; I'm not sure I would call it a resort. The beach is great; the pool a little too small. There is a lot to do with kids. It's not a quiet romantic spot, but that's not what you're looking for, right?

A good place to eat is Shephards Resort -they have a huge all you can eat buffet. Sand Key (just off Clearwater) has a nice beach too. We've stayed at the Radisson on Sand Key (all suite hotel) overlooks the bay. The Sheraton overlooks the ocean. That is very nice too, we've been told. We like Sand Key because it's away from downtown and quiet. I believe the park on Sand Key even has a playground.

Thanks for your replies. I heard alot of the hotels in this area have small pools. Is this true?

Many of them have small pools because there's a big inviting Gulf of Mexico right there for swimming.
