Hilton Clearwater Beach
My family has reservations at this hotel, and I am curious as to how the newly renovated rooms look. Also, is the beach in front of the hotel a private beach for Hilton guests? Any comments on this hotel would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, My wife and I are headed there tonight and will return May 1. I visited the hotel last year also at this time of year and the beach is not private, but the covered lounge chairs on the beach are hotel property and if you are not staying at the hotel you will be asked to leave the chairs, from which they will wait on you for beverages. The beach is very large and made of soft white sand, and the gulf water is very calm, with not much in the way of waves or fish to see if snorkeling. It does look like a great spot to rent a wave runner though. The hotel location is good and you can walk to many small local tourist shops, also a burger king and pharmacy are a few blocks away, as is the harbor with many tour boat excursions. Last year the rooms were OK and I would rate the hotel to be a solid three out of five stars, and to be the best hotel that I have stayed at in Clearwater, mainly because of it's location on the beach, private pool and jacuzzi. I think this will be a good choice for a family hotel.

John, Thank you for your reply. It was very helpful. Have a nice trip.

Why the Hilton? Get closer to the beach and go across the bridge to Sand Key. The Sheraton next to Sand Key state park is the best bet for hotel stay and nice beach! The only thing the Hilton has going for it is the noisy "drag" strips of cars/shops/beachgoers

Au contraire, bluestructure! The one thing the Hilton does have going for it is its section of beach!!!

Yes, we considered the Sheraton, but from the photos it looks like you have to walk a mile to get to the water. Which is not too appealing to us. Thanks, OliveOyl, for speaking up. I thought there for a moment we might be making a mistake.
