How close to Downtown Disney REALLY is the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort.? Walking distance for a semi active elderly woman??? At Christmas time to boot..

As far as I know there is no Hilton "IN" the Walt Disney World Resort. They are all Disney owned hotels with the exception of the Swan/Dolphin.

Try posting your question at wdwinfo.com. Lots of very knowledgeble posters there. My recollection is that the Hilton is close to Downtown Disney (ie across the street and across a medium sized parking lot). But Downtown Disney is enormous (long and narrow along a lake front.)so its hard to say if this is what you would consider walkable. Perhaps the Hilton offers a shuttle.

to xx:
The name of the hotel is "Hilton In The Walt Disney World Resort" according to AAA Tour book. No, it's not "in" but says its CLOSE to Downtown Disney. Just wondering how close. Have never been to DD, but yes, they do have shuttle to and from DW etc.
Thanks Bennie. I didn't realize it was long and narrow. Guess I need to do more research. Also thanks for the other website.

Bennie. thank you so much for the wdwinfo.com site. Saw a great pic of where the hotel is in relation to all else.

The hilton at WDW Resort is practically just across the street from downtown disney. At most its a half block walk. The closest is probably the Wyndham palace, which truly is right across the street.

Thanx Chris and Gail. Feel better now as I can roam while rest of family is in the park.
