Hilo, HI - cheap but decent hotel

I am looking for a cheap (less than $100 a night) but decent hotel for one night in Hilo on the Big Island. Any suggestions? any details, etc would be great.

I stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian several years ago and thought it was fine. It's on Banyan Drive with other hotels and close to the Nehei Cultural Center for good Japanese food. The corner room was large and comfortable. I'm sure you can get a room there for under $100.

We stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian last month. It is a large hotel, and in a nice location. Our room was lovely, but looking out over Banyan Drive- not the bay, total cost, internet price, was $89.13. Uncle Billy's is next door, but was glad that we chose the Hawaiian since Uncle Billy's is more like an old motel.

I stayed at the dolfin Bay hotel( a few blocks north of the park and it had a great tropical garden out back with stream and all the fresh bananas you could eat. I had a room with a small kitchenette and we went to the fish market and bought Ahi. They have a grill out back It was wonderfull!!

I prefer the Hilo Hawaiian. The Entertainment Book will get you half off the rack rate, but it'll be $60-$80/nt just like the internet rate. DO get a bay view room, great scenery with little Coconut Island to look at. And a lovely Japanese garden is right next door!
Uncle Billy's has good food and very Hawaiian entertainment--the waitresses take turns doing hula to the music--lot's of fun.
Sadly, I read where the fish market closed this year.

I don't have suggestions on where to stay, but here are some places to eat in Hilo:
