If you come across one, just stand still. It will usually go away after a few minutes. If it doesn't, move away VERY slowly, without making any sudden movements. Rattlesnakes want to avoid you as much as you want to avoid them.

SAnParis2 is right -- you are very unlikely to come across one. I only have because I live where they are. My whole area is a "Saguaro National Park buffer zone", with one house per 3.3 acres in a one mile band bordering the park. As I mentioned, I have only seen a few in my 12 years living here. And only twice out hiking -- once in SNP, on the road and once along the my street while walking.
