Hiking & Beaches?

I'm still looking for the perfect combination - early morning hikes then chill out on the beach late afternoon. Any suggestions?

Where are you coming from?

Do you want to fly or drive?

What is your budget?

What time of year are you traveling?

Are there any limitations - places you've been and don't want to return to?

Does it have to be in the US?

Does the beach need to be warm enough for swimming, or just warm enough for sunning?

Will you have children traveling with you, or just adults?

There - I think those will give people a good start in trying to come up with ideas for you. :)

Do you mean a beach warm enough to swim in? Olympic National Park in WA has great hiking and wildnerness beaches. Oregon also has great hiking along its beautiful coast. Much further south, you can hike around Torrey Pines north of San Diego - lots of nice beaches around there.

We're considering a trip to US Virgin Islands next year - I think that would be exactly what you're looking for. St. John is mostly national park.

Hike the Kalalau trail in Kauai. THe trailhead is right at Kee Beach. Lots of hiking in Kauai and lots of quiet and remote beaches.

Southern California (ie: Malibu area). That's exactly how I spend a lot of my weekends!
