Highway 1 - Where to visit?
 

Hi, I've decided to do Highway 1 and wondered where to visit/stay over? I've got 4/5 days to do a round trip from SF. There will be me and my fiance, both in mid 20's, from the UK, like beaches, wildlife, good food/drink, touristy stuff. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

North of the Herst Castle is a little stop off called LUCIA.That is the town name,which is just the hotel. It sits out on a cliff edge and is very nice. There is nothing close but the ocean, below you. The resturant was good also. It has been June 2002 since we were there so it may have changed alittle, but we enjoyed it. No TV or in room phones. Just peace and quiet and the sound of the surf.

Yeah, a search will uncover hundreds of threads on this well-discussed subject. And there are Highway 1s in every state in this country-- this is CA-1 or Pacific Coast Highway (especially in the southern half of the state).
