High End Kuaui Resorts

Planning Kuaui Vacation in January 2004. Has anyone stayed at the Marriot Beach Club and Resort. Would you recommend it? We are interested in high-end resorts. Can anyone recommend any other good resorts?

The Princeville Resort is second to none. The location, the VIEWS, the decor, the service, did i say the VIEWS . . . The Hyatt is beautiful, but could be anywhere. The Princeville is located on (arguably) the most beautiful spot on earth.

The Marriott Kauai is not among the 25 best resorts in the islands (since you asked about high end resorts).
The Princeville and Hyatt are the top 2 on Kauai, and offer rather different experiences depending on what appeals to you.

We stayed 4 nights at the Hyatt on our honeymoon and loved it. Beautiful resort, great pool, good selection of restaurants. We were deciding between Princeville and Hyatt, and chose Hyatt. Princeville is also great, on the north end of island near rainforest, and they get a bit more rain up there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Marriott in Lihue and in a direct path of the planes landing at the airport?
We went to Duke's Restaurant on the grounds of the "Marriott", I believe, and it was nice except for the planes flying over every hour or so. I don't think I would stay there. If this is not the hotel, then please correct my post. I agree the Princeville hotel on the North Shore or the Hyatt in Poipu are the best!
