Hideaways or Sea Lodge Beach?
Hello~
as I refine our Kauai intinerary, I decided that one of the days we will go to Queen's Bath and either Hideaways (Pali Ke Kua) OR Sea Lodge Beach (too many things to see & do, too little time!). How do the two beaches compare? Does one tend to have more visitors vs. the other? For those of you who have been to both beaches, which one would you choose if you only could go to one? |
We just went to Kauai in April for 8 days. We didn't go to Sea Lodge beach but we did go to Hideaways. By far the best beach I have EVER been to. You had to walk down a washed out trail (1/2 stairs, 1/2 slippery slope) but it was a 5-7 walk at most. There is a 10 space parking lot next to the tennis courts right before you go into the Princeville resort.
As you walk down the trail, you are looking over crystal clear/blue water. You can see the reef that awaits you. teh beach itself was a perfect white sand swath. It was about 25 yards wide by 100 yards in length and that's it. My wife and I were the ONLY ones there, it was perfect. |
Hideaways wins hands down! I was not all that impressed with Sealodge beach but Hideaways is my favorite. The only drawback to Hideaways is the steep path leading down there but of course that is also why there's never many people there. I mentioned both beaches in my April trip report.

Even though the water was a little surgy when we were there we loved Hideaways. It's very quiet and was a great place for us to spend a few morning hours.
We'll be there again in 52 days! -Bill |
Thanks all for your comments! It seems like I should definitely check out Hideaways.
dfarr: Nice trip report! I love it when people do that! |
