Hidden Treasures of Italy

Bad experience. I am still trying to get reimbursed for expenses that I had to pay for twice due to the fact they pay backwards. Every hotel I checked into that was suposed to be prepaid stated they have not received payment yet. One tear later and they still owe me $80.00

Agree don;t now what "pay backwards" means.

Why not just have you credit card cancel all of the charges that weren't legitimate. And if you payed hotels by other than credit card - shame on you.

Isn't pay it backwards the opposite of pay it forward?

Welcome to Fodors Jim4162. You have posted on the USA board which has nothing to do w/ European tours or Italy.

But in any case, do you have a question or want advice what to do? There really isn't much any of us can do to help you here.

Paying backwards means the money I paid for my trip was used to pay the bills from a previous customer. Yes they are located in IL. Do not use Hidden Treasures of Italy.

$80? That small amount could be due to exchange rate fluctuations or almost anything. Are you sure they owe you?

Doesn;t matter where they are located - this should be on the europe board - where people that might use this company will be searching/posing.

And if they took your money but didn't provide hotels - it doesn't matter what they did with it.

Have you complained to you CC company?

Or, if you paid them in cash - well, sorry, but that is a lesson learned. And at $80 not such an expensive one.

I still don't really understand what you mean by "pay backwards". I feel like I'm reading a post backwards.

What the OP is alleging is that the company took his money and used it to pay for the stays of previous guests at the same hotels. (Apparently they were out of cash - or they were in a dispute with the hotel about another stay - don;t know which.)

Don't know if this is true - or how the OP would know this.

And in any case - it really doesn;t matter what the company did with his money. If he paid and didn't get the hotel then they owe him. But posting here won;t help.

"the company took his money and used it to pay for the stays of previous guests at the same hotels"

If that's the case - they must have used subsequent client's money to pay the OP. Or they would have owed him a heck of a lot more than $80.

I don't think we know what happened -

No - he's not clear. I'm assuming he either straightened it out with one or more hotels directly - or managed to get some refund from the company he paid.

In any case - this shuld have been dealt with at the time via the credit card - which would have refunded money for any night the company didn't pay for.

Perhaps there is more to it - since the OP doesn't seem to want to give details.
