Hi - Want to move to U.S.
 

hi there I want to know if there's a way to go to usa if you are just 16 . I wanna become a singer and I cannot bcz where I am currently ppl think that is impossible so going usa and then deubt my own song and then the experience each and everything I need I can get over there not here I can do anything for becoming a singer so just pls tell if I can live there earn ND do all the things I need cz my parents will be disappointed if I'm gonna tell I wanna be a singer I hope u can understand what I meant don't think I'm mad I really m stressed of the current life I am living

You could come to the US on the H-2B visa which allows people to work in resorts such as ski resorts and other resorts near national parks. You may have to be 18 however. When the temporary job is over, maybe you could go to a music center such as Nashville to see if you can luck out and get a music career launched. You would be in competition with thousands of other singers and musicians so the odds are not great. In the US you are not considered an adult until age 18, so even if you were able to come (not under your present circumstances) and someone wanted to sign you to a record contract, you could not legally sign. You also cannot rent a car or motel room, etc.
See if any of the talent shows like America's Got Talent, American Idol or The Voice are holding auditions, most of them are done via tape, etc.

Could you try to come over for school and do your music on the side? You are young so school might be a way in.

I agree that looking for a school, music camp, something like that might work. And come to the US on a vacation (tourist paperwork) first before trying to make a permanent move?

And some schools are free--even for international students. I think Berea College is one.

Berea College is not "free". ALso, you have to have good grades and pass the TOEFL proficiency test (which the OP certainly would not), it is very competitive. They do offer a package of financial aid and scholarships, but that isn't free.

I'm sure a lot of Americans would like to know where all these free colleges are.

I wouldn’t call the school route impossible. People have done it. You just have to know what you are doing, etc. The OP is young so it’s not entirely impossible to even make it to the US and pursue music.

Berea’s web indicates that it is free for a number of international students each year and once chosen, it is for four years. Of course, there are expectations of work and it is competitive. The students do have some insurance type monetary requirements, but they can be waived. It is an educational commitment.
The age of the OP is an issue. There are so many unknowns. We don’t know anything about his/her financial situation, education, or family. At age 16, they could look into a year long, High school, student exchange organization. Right now, with Covid, I doubt if any of this is possible, but the OP can certainly be looking into many of the ideas offered. Make a video of yourself singing. Get feedback from people who hear you. Consider a UTube Chanel. Check into groups that perform online a lot. Contact some voice teachers or music agents for advice. There are bands that encourage young performers and use them in performances sometimes. Look for some that do that. If you were older, you would have more travel options. Right now, you need to work on your music and find ways to promote yourself online. An agent who hears you and believes in you could really help with so many of the logistical issues.
