Hi back atcha, STW.
So where are you dreamin' of? |
Where have you been? LOL I'm going on the trip. Going to Watonga Oklahoma (don't ask) on the 12th of Oct. for 4 days. Will be attending the Cheese Festival..no, I'm NOT kidding. The I'm leaving for Paris on Nov. 1. Oh lucky me!!!!! LOL
|
I THINK I'm going on two trips. Have rooms reserved in NYC (on points) in November.
And, seriously considering a trip to California in Dec. Have too much vacation left NOT to go somewhere! |
I'm dreaming of ANYWHERE!! I want to go to my "happy place". ((A))
I'm experiencing summer vacation withdrawal. :( crefloors, I've been working 14 hour days. O-) |
Hi STW. :) Nice to see you, as always.
I'm sitting here on my patio in the Caribbean putting off putting away the laundry and dusting. Hmmm....guess I'd better get to that soon. At least before DH gets home from work late tonight. I have some upcoming trips, although they aren't necessarily the ones I would choose if I were given my ultimate choice of travel. I leave on Monday for a week long buying trip in Miami, then I'm home two days and off for an overnighter on the island of St. Maarten. The next day brings me to Houston for a week of round the clock errands, shopping, dr's appointments and the likes. DH will meet me there after a few days for that yearly marathon "list" that we have to accomplish state-side. At least we will have a week thereafter in a friend's waterfront home in Florida with our families, complete with swimming pool, hot tub, lanai, sailboat, etc. That downtime with our families (even if we have to all fly to get there) will be really nice. Then, it's back to Houston for a day and a return to the island for us. In total I will be gone for a month and I know that "home sweet home" will be just that after living out of a carry-on for a month. :) |
Sunbum--That sounds like a lot of fun!
Our next trip isn't until December:( The worst part is that today I got an email about a special airfare and we could go from PDX to Orlando for $218 r/t!!! That is where we are headed, but dang it, it is for the shuttle launch and I know the dates will change, so I can't book it just yet. |
Sasks...where is that?
You know, the cheese festival sounds good, lol. I like cheese. :) Statia, I hope you have a safe trip. A month is a long time to be away. We'll miss you! I'm checking into the Connecticut wine trail for maybe a weekend in October. Like I said, anywhere would work. |
mms-
I am walking in the Race for the Cure in Portland on Sun- will you be there? |
Sunbum--No, I will be down in McMinnville. I hope you have a good time with the race! I love participating in those type of events.
|
Yes, I always want to go on a trip! And in less than three weeks DH and I will be headed to Santa Fe. Lots of travel scheduled this fall...Santa Fe, Philadelphia, Rehoboth Beach (DE), lesser known areas of MD to see family, New York City, Rome & Naples Italy--I am a very happy girl.
|
AnnMarie! Have wonderful trips! :)
|
We're leave Friday for Yellowstone . . . hope I'm bringing the right clothes - sounds like it will be cold. Should I start a new what-to-wear thread?! LoL
Statia, although you'll be busy, those kind of trips are usually nice and they really make you appreciate home when you get back. :) |
I am going to Hawaii next summer! We will visit Maui, Oahu and Kuai. I can't wait! My husband was able to get first class tickets with frequent flier miles! YEA!!!
|
BG, take a fleece sweatshirt. Or, if you don't have one, be ready to buy one out there.
I can travel almost anywhere (casual) with my summer/fall wardrobe as long as I have my fleece sweatshirt (long tunic style) and a pair of socks and gloves stuck in the suitcase. I bought two of the same (different colors) at Keystone (end of season sale) and I'm in one or the other about 80% of the time from cool weather to freezing cold. Layers, yes. But fleece will keep you warm - without overheating you - even when you get wet. PS - The fleece sweatshirt makes a GREAT travel pillow tucked into my high count pillowcase I have in my carryon :-) |
Starrsy, you have given me so much great advice. I have my coat in my pillowcase - ready to go - as you suggested. And I have a zippered fleece I got for Alaska that I'm bringing, too. I have polypro gloves and socks, so I think I'm ready. Thanks!
|
BG, you want me to tell a funny story on myself?
|
She sits up straight and tall in her chair, and begins typing excitedly . . . Yes, Starrsy, please do!!! :)
|
Oh, it's not that good! Sorry. Now, I don't even want to tell you...
I love those two sweatshirt so much - but I was freezing while I was painting during renovations (with no heat). So, I turned them inside out and wore them while I painted. I always forget until I take them off and see the colors of my home - on the inside of my fav fleece sweatshirts :-) |
